Back by popular demand! Initially conceived as part of the Whose Chinatown? virtual conference, Chats & Chews are intended as informal mingling sessions for community members to connect and come together for casual conversation over virtual drinks and snacks – We’ll even provide a list of our favorite local Chinatown restaurants to help get the party started! Our hope is to dive back into some of the main themes and topics explored throughout Whose Chinatown? project, ranging from cultural heritage and revitalization to gentrification, economy, and the changes that have swept across Canada’s Chinatowns due to development and population, prior to and post-covid. Join us as we celebrate Chinatowns across the country while forging new community connections and engaging in important dialogue with an intimate, welcoming, and like-minded group of individuals.
