Eighteen Drawings is the latest release from micro-publisher As We Try & Sleep Press, edited by Kegan McFadden.
This new artist book of recent drawings by Garry Neill Kennedy is published in a limited edition to celebrate the artist's 85th birthday. The book reproduces, full scale both sides of these drawings that capture the movement, and gusto, with which they are created.
McFadden states: “Working, once again, with Garry Neill Kennedy is an honour and pleasure. When I saw these experimental drawings I envisioned a print edition and so I am extremely pleased to be publishing this artist book by one of Canada’s most important conceptual artists.”
A special online discussion and book launch with McFadden and David MacWilliam will take place live over Zoom on December 13th. This event will be broadcast live from Griffin Art Projects, and McFadden will be onsite to greet visitors in-person following the discussion (entry to the gallery is limited to 10 guests at a time). Copies of Eighteen Drawings will be available in advance at Griffin from Saturday November 21.
As We Try & Sleep Press is grateful to Garry Neill Kennedy and Cathy Busby, as well as Lynda Gammon who helped with layout and design, Rachel Topham Photography for such attention to detail, and to Lisa Baldissera of Griffin Art Projects and David McWilliam who curated NOW BULLETIN for their interest and enthusiasm in this project.
