IMPRINTING STORY

IMPRINTING STORY

January 16 - 19, 2025, 12:00-5:00PM

In January 2025, Griffin hosted an exhibition, Imprinting Story, as part of Griffin’s YouthHUB program with grade 10 to 12 students, in collaboration with the Artists for Kids program at the Gordon Smith Gallery.

Mentored by ECU Fellow Faria Firoz, Imprinting Story highlighted the traditional technique of moom batik in order to explore cultural imaginings through patternmaking and beadwork. Students were immersed in the technique and historical lineage of the form, culminating in the students creating individualized tote bags, displayed throughout the gallery.
